چکیده
BACKGROUND: Limestone dust is produced by limestone mining activities, one of them PM2.5. Exposure PM2.5 can cause lung function impairment. AIM: The purpose this study was to determine the correlation exposure with impairment in workers. METHODS: This used a cross-sectional total sampling technique 30 instruments questionnaires for interviews, Dusttrak II TSI measure concentration and spirometry function. RESULTS: Based on results study, highest values were 987 ?g/m3 lowest 14 ?g/m3. analysis using Chi-square obtained between use personal protective equipment (p = 0.000). Furthermore, Fisher’s exact test, there pulmonary 0.002) years work CONCLUSION: Further research needed environmental health risk estimates based intake.

Disabling pneumoconiosis from limestone dust.
Limestone dust is generally regarded as being relatively harmless. In this paper I wish to record eight cases of pneumoconiosis in limestone workers, in all of which limestone played the sole or principal aetiological part. My attention was first drawn to the condition in November, 1950, when I saw the chest radiograph of a patient whose occupation was limestone crushing. The appearances were m...
متن کاملLung function after exposure to barley dust.
Six men handling barley were followed up over two working days and their flow volume curves were measured every two hours. All experienced falls in ventilatory capacity of up to 800 ml with changes in the shape of the flow volume curve in five men. Five volunteers not previously exposed to barley dust sat in a silo for two hours. Decreases in ventilatory capacity ranging from 200 ml to 800 ml w...
متن کاملLung function: occupational exposure to wood dust
OBJECTIVES Occupational exposure to wood dust has been shown to cause several respiratory disorders, such as allergic rhinitis, chronic bronchitis, asthma, sino-nasal adenocarcinoma, and impairment of lung function. The aim of the study was to estimate lung function (in the woodworking industry) among workers employed by wood processing, who run the risk of being expose to wood dust. METHODS ...
متن کاملCumulative exposure to dust and gases as determinants of lung function decline in tunnel construction workers.
AIMS To study the relation between lung function decrease and cumulative exposure to dust and gases in tunnel construction workers. METHODS A total of 651 male construction workers (drill and blast workers, tunnel concrete workers, shotcreting operators, and tunnel boring machine workers) were followed up by spirometric measurements in 1989-2002 for an average of six years. Outdoor concrete w...
متن کاملCumulative exposure to dust causes accelerated decline in lung function in tunnel workers.
OBJECTIVES To examine whether underground construction workers exposed to tunnelling pollutants over a follow up period of 8 years have an increased risk of decline in lung function and respiratory symptoms compared with reference subjects working outside the tunnel atmosphere, and relate the findings to job groups and cumulative exposure to dust and gases. METHODS 96 Tunnel workers and a ref...
